The customer is one of the most important banking groups.
The group, mainly domestic, has a multi-regional coverage with 1,575 branches in Italy, of which 585 in Lombardy and 144 in Piedmont, and a significant presence in the most dynamic regions of central and southern Italy. In addition, the Group has an international network mainly driven by customer needs.
The biggest problem with the roof was the infiltration of water caused by the presence of multiple layers of bituminous membrane applied over several years and detached now. The existing layer was no longer able to guarantee the correct waterproofing function. For this reason the property has decided to choose an ideal solution to avoid new water infiltrations and ensure greater durability over time.
The Mpm solution in this case is a seamless waterproofing system called STARFLEX, ideal for renovating old membranes without removing existing ones. The technical solution proposed by mpm was the application of a liquid waterproofing system, ideal for renovating old membranes.Mpm, together with its partner, has applied a seamless solution called STARFLEX SYSTEM based on a single-component polyurethane product, directly applicable by roller on the existing roof.The first step of the application was the preparation of the substrate in order to obtain a clean substrate.The second phase was the removal of the existing detached bituminous membranes.
After the preparation of the substrate, it was necessary to improve the adhesion by applying a primer called PRIMER 0230 based on an ultra rapid one-component solvent. The third phase was the application of the high-end product in STARFLEX MONO TIX polyurethane, a single-component waterproofing membrane in polyurethane applied by roller.The last phase was the application of an aliphatic STARFLEX MONO TOP top coat, white in color to improve the solar reflection and internal temperatures of the building.
